Book Review: The Art of Frugal Hedonism

by Annie Raser-Rowland and Adam Grubb, 2016.

I've just finished eating this up. It's the kind of book that you want all your friends and family to read ASAP so you can talk about some of the cray-mazing (crazy-amazing) ideas with them for hours, and then go dumpstering together.

It focuses on the idea that we can live a funner, healthier, fuller, fairer and more sustainable life by making decisions which will also often happen to save us money. And saving money means reducing your need to work, which can lead to all sorts of wonderful pursuits. What I love about this book though is that the authors take a holistic view. They place a high value on fairness and sustainability because they understand that life is better when it's better for everyone, not just for some,

Plus, it's well written, is often hilarious and has a beautiful cover.

Win win win win win.

Incidentally, the last book Annie & Adam co-authored 'The Weed Forager's Handbook: A Guide to Edible and Medicinal Weeds in Australia' is also excellent, I've used it so many times since buying it years ago and highly recommend it.

Here's a video of them discussing the book and showcasing a few weeds...
